This is one of the most important features that we at Nutrition-Software-Review look for. Is the product user friendly-easy for beginners and experienced computer users alike?
How simple is the software to install and use on your computer? Are additional downloads necessary before you can make a copy? Do errors pop up during the installation? Is there help available?
Is the Help easily found and informative? Did the Help answer your questions?
General Nutrition Features
Personal Home UseThis program is designed for individual home use.
The Goal Setter lets you set your weight goals and get a calorie budget for achieving them.
This feature allows you to input more than 1 person into the database allowing you to monitor a group of people working together to manage their weight or nutritional intake or for weight loss institutions.
It shows how much you weigh every day, as well as what you should weigh if your diet is on target and how much you will weigh if you continue on your present course.
Use the Portion Editor to specify the amount of food you are logging. It opens automatically when you start to log.
The Nutrient History helps you balance your diet by showing how much of each nutrient you've consumed and which foods contributed to it.
A popup calculator for doing weight and other mathematical calculations.
This screen allows you to input your body measurements (arms, upper torso, lower torso, legs) to track your results as you use the program.
This screen allows you to input your Body Mass measurements so that they can be tracked as you use the program.
The Calendar is for keeping a diary; correcting past food, exercise, or weight logs; and planning meals.
Food Management
Food LogThe Food Log is where you record all your meals, analyze your nutrients, recommend foods, and adjust your calorie budget to keep you tracking toward your goal.
Brand Name Foods are included in the Food Items Database along with generic items. (Heinz, Betty Crocker, Campbell, etc.)
At the end of each day, if you've eaten fewer calories than your budget called for, the surplus is deposited in your Calorie Bank. Conversely, if you've overeaten, the program withdraws calories from the bank. You can use the Calorie Bank to save up for days when you want to splurge. Monitoring your account will also help you understand your long-term eating and exercise trends
The Nutrient Summary shows how much of each nutrient a food contains.
Recipes & Meals
Create A RecipeCreate an unlimited number of recipes to the Recipe Database. You can also print or e-mail your recipes.
Create a unique menu of meals and snacks in accordance with specified weight goals or nutritional requirements.
Exercise Integration
Exercise LogThe Exercise Log is where you earn extra calories by recording your workouts.
Reporting for Motivation
ReportsDisplays information in a Bar Graph Format.
